Native XLS and XLSX input
Open your Excel workbook directly in the app. Both the legacy XLS format and modern XLSX files are supported, so older exports keep working too.
Many payment runs start life in Excel: a sheet of beneficiaries, IBANs, and amounts maintained by a finance team. SEPA Generator converts that XLS or XLSX file into standards-based pain.001 SEPA Credit Transfer XML — locally, on your computer, without uploading your payment data anywhere.

Keep working in Excel the way you already do. Open your XLS or XLSX workbook directly in the app — no manual CSV export and no copy-pasting into a website.

Not sure how to structure the sheet? Start from the Excel input template built into the app: pre-defined columns for creditor name, IBAN, amount, and remittance information.
Typos happen in spreadsheets — a digit lost from an IBAN, an amount formatted as text, a date cell gone wrong. Every row is validated before the XML is generated. See what is validated.
Generate pain.001.001.02 or
pain.001.001.09 from the same workbook — whichever
your bank's upload channel expects.
Compare the two versions.
A payment spreadsheet is sensitive data: employee salaries, supplier IBANs, payment amounts. Uploading it to a web converter means trusting a third party with all of it. SEPA Generator is a desktop application — the workbook is read on your machine, the XML is written on your machine, and nothing is sent to a server.
Maintain your payment sheet in Excel, save it, open it in SEPA Generator, pick the pain.001 version and execution date, and generate the XML. The how-to guide walks through each step.
Generated files are designed to follow the pain.001 SEPA Credit Transfer format. Final acceptance may depend on your bank, upload channel, account configuration, and bank-specific rules — test your first file with your banking portal.
The Community Edition is free and includes Excel input, templates, validation, and both pain.001 versions. Exporting CSV from an accounting or ERP system instead? See CSV to SEPA XML.
