Obtaining the signed mandate
Your customer authorises you to collect, on a paper form or through an e-mandate service. Pro does not collect signatures.
Outside ProKeep every customer's mandate reference, signature date, debtor IBAN, and scheme in one local register, and let each Direct Debit collection draw on it instead of retyping the same details.

“Managing mandates” can mean several things. Pro handles two of them; the other two stay with you, your customers, and the banks.
Your customer authorises you to collect, on a paper form or through an e-mandate service. Pro does not collect signatures.
Outside ProThe reference, signature date, debtor account, scheme, and whether the mandate is still in use, kept for every customer.
In ProYour creditor identifier and Direct Debit agreement come from your bank. For B2B mandates, the debtor also confirms the mandate with their own bank. Pro does not register mandates anywhere.
Outside ProEach collection uses the recorded mandate details to build a pain.008 file that you upload through your bank.
In ProCustomers belong to a creditor profile, so organisations that collect under more than one creditor identifier keep them apart.
Most organisations start with a spreadsheet or an export from another system. Import it from CSV, XLS, or XLSX and map its columns once.
Once mandates are recorded, preparing a collection is a matter of choosing who to collect from this period.
Add customers to a new collection, or repeat last period's. Paused and inactive mandates are left out of repeats.
Review flags a first collection (FRST) on a mandate that was already collected, a collection after a final one, and large amount changes.
Mandate reference and signature date go into every transaction of the pain.008 file, ready for upload through your bank.
The full collection cycle, from repeat to export history, is on SEPA Direct Debit software.
The scheme is recorded on each mandate, and a collection is prepared for one scheme at a time. The main differences, in short:
| Aspect | SEPA Core | SEPA B2B |
|---|---|---|
| Debtors | Consumers and businesses | Businesses only, not consumers |
| Debtor's refund right for an authorised collection | Up to 8 weeks after the debit date | None |
| Mandate confirmation at the debtor's bank | Not required | Debtor confirms the mandate with their bank |
| In SEPA Generator Pro | Set per mandate | Set per mandate |
Summary only: the European Payments Council rulebooks, your bank, and your Direct Debit agreement define the exact rules and deadlines. COR1 is no longer a separate option; older COR1 files can be moved to CORE with the migration tools in Pro.
Mandate records stay in a local workspace on your computer, with optional encrypted backups. See data and backups in Pro.
No. Pro does not collect signatures. You obtain the signed mandate the way you do today, on paper or through an e-mandate service, and then record its reference, signature date, and debtor details in Pro.
No. Pro has no connection to any bank. The mandate details you record are written into each Direct Debit file you export. For B2B mandates, the debtor must also confirm the mandate with their own bank, which happens outside Pro.
Yes. Map the columns of a CSV, XLS, or XLSX file to customer and mandate fields. Pro matches existing records by customer reference and mandate reference, shows new and updated rows with the fields that change, and blocks duplicate or conflicting rows before anything is saved.
Mark the mandate as paused or inactive. It is no longer included when you repeat a collection, and the customer, the mandate, and earlier exports stay in Pro for reference. These statuses are your own records, not a legal check of the mandate.
No. Pro does not track mandate expiry. Under the SEPA rules a mandate lapses if no collection is presented under it for 36 months, so keep that in mind for rarely used mandates and set their status accordingly.
Pro helps you keep accurate mandate records and consistent collection files. Keeping the signed mandates, informing customers before each collection, and meeting your bank's and the scheme's rules remain your responsibility.
